Ben Machielse
Ben Machielse is a retired biotech executive, originally from the Netherlands, who moved to the USA in 1995 and is now happily retired in Naples. He picked up fly fishing a few years ago and loves the ongoing learning process involved with his new passion.
He is convinced that Southwest Florida has some of the best and most diverse fly fishing opportunities in the country. One of his favorite pastimes is exploring new fisheries by boat or kayak while taking advantage of the excellent guides, teachers, shops and fly fishing clubs in the area. He is honored to support this symposium as an effort to help put Southwest Florida on the map as a premier fly fishing destination.
If he is not fishing, he says that he is cooking, biking with his wife Leonza, and learning how to tie flies.
